Recreation
The Rock River holds the Guinness record for the largest free-floating raft of kayaks and canoes (649) which was set on August 17, 1996, in Byron, Illinois. The participants held hands and remained together for 30 seconds. Special thanks goes to the United States Canoe Association for organizing the event that helped put our beloved river in the annals of history.
